March 25th 2022 – new video arising from creative burst in lockdown!

Announcing a new video, a selection from the lockdown album ‘Story of me’. The full album of 36 tracks can be found at: https://geoffsalt.bandcamp.com/album/story-of-me The video has less than half that number! Comprised of live takes and alternate versions, it runs to around 45 minutes. Fairly home-made I would say with some competition from the washing machine and laptop fan, enjoy!

29th Jan 2022: Sonnet news, drawing 2 lines!

I have decided to draw 2 lines under my 2 albums of Sonnet versions! 58 tracks (some doubles) on 2 albums:

Titles are from from Sonnet 76, central line in a central sonnet in the sequence:

                        76

Why is my verse so barren of new pride?
So far from variation or quick change?
Why with the time do I not glance aside
To new-found methods and to compounds strange?
Why write I still all one, ever the same,
And keep invention in a noted weed,
That every word doth almost tell my name,
Showing their birth and where they did proceed?
O, know, sweet love, I always write of you,
And you and love are still my argument;
So all my best is dressing old words new,
Spending again what is already spent:
For as the sun is daily new and old,
So is my love still telling what is told.

I think ‘Every word’ is a possible clue/anagram to the poet’s real name, eg ‘Eyword Ver’, (doth almost tell my name). Close match to Edward Vere 17th Earl of Oxford…….
I could comment on ‘noted weed’ as well. What could he mean??

Food for thought, over and out for now. For much more info on the autobiographical nature of the Sonnets check out ‘The Monument’ by Hank Whittemore, it’s all there:

July 16th 2021: Final batch of Sonnets VIDEO – Everyword Part 5

8 sonnets in 7 arrangements, recorded 15th July, Slough, UK:

No longer mourn for me, O how I faint when I of you do write, Or I shall live your epitaph to make, Was it the proud full sail? When in the chronicle of wasted time, Let me not to the marriage of true minds, Whoever hath her wish, The little love god……

2 albums of Shake-speare Sonnets

‘EVERY WORD’

‘DOTH ALMOST TELL MY NAME’

Anagram much? (Sonnet 76) So… ‘every word’ with each letter either rejected, rearranged or reused gives:

EDWORD DE VERE

‘ALMOST’

EDWARD DE VERE

17th EARL OF OXFORD.

Over and out!!

Summer Solstice 2021: 4 albums to YouTube… ‘The Garden of Love’, ‘Sanctuary’, ‘SACRED DAYS’ and ‘Oracle’ – the Movies

The first collection of multitrack songs that I recorded on a Tascam Portastudio in the 1990s became the ‘Garden of Love’ album, from the title song written in 1997. 10 videos made in London, Windsor, Slough and Wiltshire over the last 20 years. 10 original songs, 2 done live at home……

Also, a second 10 song collection: ‘Sanctuary’ now in video form plus the first all guitar instrumental album ‘Sacred Days’ named after the title track from 1998. I remember the session well!

Lastly, ‘Oracle’: more guitar and multitrack instrumentals containing a wide variety of styles and tunings.
